ABSTRACT:
The use of 1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxamide and 1,2,4-triazole-3-thiocarboxamide and physiologically compatible salts thereof as antiviral agents is disclosed. A process for synthesizing 1-.beta.-D-ribofuranosyl-1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxamide is also disclosed.
