New 1,2,3,4-tetra-hydrocarbazole derivatives of the formula: ##SPC1##
Wherein R.sup.1 is straight-chained or branched alkyl, and the pharmacologically compatible salts thereof, are markedly effective as inhibitors of adrogenic .beta.-receptors and thus useful for the treatment and prophylaxis of cardiac and circulatory diseases.
