ABSTRACT:
A processing apparatus, for use with a self-processing film unit of the type including a sheet-like photosensitive film component and a low viscosity processing liquid applicator, is configured to apply a longitudinally directed compression force to the film unit causing a flat leader tab forming section thereon to fold and form a protruding leader tab. The tab is fed into a pair of rollers on the apparatus which advance the film unit therebetween to progressively apply a force, preferably having both a tension component and compression component, to the leader tab and then to following portions of the film unit for manipulating an initially folded and releasably sealed enclosure section of the applicator to bring a processing liquid soaked pad therein into liquid yielding contact with an outer surface of the film component.
