ABSTRACT:
The human pol .delta. gene, responsible for a replication error phenotype in some colorectal tumors, can be used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. It can be used to demonstrate the existence of germline or somatic mutations in replication error (RER.sup.+) tumor cells.
