ABSTRACT:
Preparation of 1,2,4-triazole by reacting formamide and hydrazine in a molar ratio of 2:1 to 2.2:1, hydrazine or its hydrate being metered into excess formamide, preheated to 160.degree.-200.degree., while maintaining the temperature, and then completing the reaction at 160.degree.-240.degree. C.
