ABSTRACT:
Molding compositions for the fabrication of shaped articles having enhanced mechanical properties are comprised of (i) a polymeric matrix, (ii) an inorganic reinforcing filler material therefor, and, advantageously, (iii) a polymer/filler coupling agent, said reinforcing filler material consisting essentially of intimate admixture of enstatite and silica advantageously prepared by calcination of a precursor clay at a temperature of at least 800.degree. C.
