ABSTRACT:
An optical waveguide router is provided with a control arrangement that is bonded to the silicon wafer of the router to deform the arms of the grating of the router to change their optical lengths in the same proportion with little strain in the direction normal to that of the waveguide arms to minimize birefringence effects.
