ABSTRACT:
A process for synthesizing polyestercarbonate-siloxane copolymers which have a smaller concentration of low molecular weight species and greater thermal stability has been described. Essentially the process includes adding the comonomer, diacid chloride siloxane, after approximately 1/3 of the phosgene has been added, in a conventional interfacial copolymerization, (as opposed to addition at the beginning of the polymerization).
