The invention relates to a new method for the treatment of anoxia of brain cells using a PGI.sub.1 derivative of the formula: ##STR1## (wherein R represents an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms.) or cyclodextrin clathrates thereof, or non-toxic salts thereof.
