ABSTRACT:
A method of manufacturing an aluminum alloy for electric conductors wherein an aluminum alloy wire which possesses good elongation characteristics, high electric conductivity and high strength, after it has been worked to its final size, is obtained by casting an aluminum-iron alloy, which consists of 1.0 .about. 2.0% iron and a remainder substantially of aluminum, into an ingot and heating it at 500.degree. - 630.degree. C. for 0.5 - 48 hours before or after said ingot is hot-worked into a wire rod.
