ABSTRACT:
A silver halide photosensitive material is described, which comprises at least one of the compounds represented by the following formula (I) ##STR1## wherein Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2 each represents an atomic group necessary for forming a five- or six-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group, Q represents a divalent linking group or a single bond, with the proviso that at least one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and Q is substituted with a water-soluble group, L.sub.1, L.sub.2, L.sub.3, L.sub.4, L.sub.5, L.sub.6, L.sub.7 and L.sub.8 each represents a methine group, n.sub.1 and n.sub.2 each is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4, p.sub.1 and p.sub.2 each is 0 or 1, M.sub.1 represents a charge equilibrium counter ion, and m.sub.1 is a number of from 0 to 10, which is necessary for neutralizing charge of the molecule.
