ABSTRACT:
This invention encompasses compounds of the following formula and the stereoisomers and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. ##STR1## wherein R represents lower alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, lower alkenyl of 2 to 6 carbon atoms, or --(CH.sub.2).sub.m --R.sup.3 wherein R.sup.3 represents cycloalkyl of 3 to 5 carbon atoms and m is 1, 2 or 3; R.sub.1 is --CONH.sub.2 or ##STR2## NHSO.sub.2 R.sub.2 wherein R.sub.2 is lower alkyl, phenyl, unsubstituted or substituted with loweralkyl, or ##STR3## and n is an integer from 2 to 5. The compounds are useful anti-inflammatory agents for treating, for example, inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, asthma and psoriasis.
