A composition useful for molding into articles such as food containers, soft drink bottles, cured structural plastics and the like, comprising molding or fiber grade linear or unsaturated polyester or polycarbonate having copolymerized therein a total of from 1.0 to about 5,000 ppm, of the residue of one or a mixture of methine reactants of the formula ##STR1## wherein A is an unsubstituted or substituted 2-furanyl, 2-thienyl or 3-thienyl radical;
