ABSTRACT:
A method for the preparation of polymeric foams which comprises reacting under CO.sub.2 liberating conditions an organic polyisocyanate with an aldehyde or ketone having a nucleophilic or isocyanate-reactive center within 6 atoms of the carbon atom of the carbonyl group. The method is useful for making foams with reduced amounts of CFC-blowing agents or even in the absence of CFC-blowing agents.
