ABSTRACT:
A transmission apparatus has an epicyclic gear unit and a torque converter. One element of the epicyclic gear unit is connected to one element of the torque converter, and another element of the epicyclic gear is connected to another element of the torque converter. The third element of the epicyclic gear unit is connected to a first shaft. A second shaft is connected to one other element of the transmission apparatus. In a preferred embodiment, a variable ratio is provided between the two shafts, with the torque converter regulating this ratio.
