ABSTRACT:
Disclosed herein is a method for producing .alpha.-form gypsum hemihydrate, comprising heating an aqueous slurry containing gypsum dihydrate and a salt of sulfosuccinic acid as the catalyst for crystallization, thereby converting gypsum dihydrate into .alpha.-form gypsum hemihydrate.
