ABSTRACT:
Process for the regeneration of a fluorination catalyst based on Cr(III) compounds optionally supported, which comprise a) treatment at 350.degree.-40.degree. C. with an air/inert gas mixture and b) treatment at 300.degree.-380.degree. C. with a mixture of an inert gas containing from 0.5 to 5% by volume of an aliphatic hydrocarbon C.sub.1 -C.sub.8.
