ABSTRACT:
A compact zoom lens system having a field angle on the order of 48.degree. at the wide position thereof, vari-focal ratios of 3 to 6, aperture ratios of F/1.4 to F/2.8 and a long back focal length. Said zoom lens system comprises, in the order from the object side, a first lens unit having positive refractive power, a second lens unit movable for varying focal length and having negative refractive power, a third lens unit movable along the optical axis for varying focal length and having positive refractive power, and a fourth lens unit always kept fixing and having positive refractive power, the second lens unit and the third lens unit consisting of four or a smaller number of lens elements in total.
