ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of 2,4,6-trifluoro-1,3,5-triazine (TFT) from 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine (TCT) or from mixed chlorinated/fluorinated 1,3,5-triazines by fluorination with sodium fluoride in dipolar aprotic solvents.
The process is characterized in that TCT or mixed chlorinated/fluorinated 1,3,5-triazines or mixtures thereof are metered into a suspension of sodium fluoride in a dipolar, aprotic solvent, which is warmed to a temperature of between 120.degree. C. and 220.degree. C. and optionally contains a further solvent.
