ABSTRACT:
A zinc benzoate compound represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents an alkyl or aralkyl group; and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, independently from each other, each represent an alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, alkoxy or acyl group, an amino group which may be substituted, a nitro group or a halogen atom. The compound of the general formula (1) is colorless, highly stable and has excellent dispersibility in a binder resin for an electrophotographic toner, and can impart excellent frictional electrification properties to a toner, therefore being useful particularly as a charge control agent for an electrophotographic toner.
