ABSTRACT:
A method for preparing difluoroacetic acid fluoride, which comprises reacting a 1-alkoxy-1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane of the formula HCF.sub.2 CF.sub.2 OR.sup.1 wherein R.sup.1 is a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group in a gas phase in the presence of a metal oxide catalyst.
