ABSTRACT:
Certain sodium borophosphate glasses containing 0 to 11 mole percent of one or more oxides selected from the group consisting of ZrO.sub.2, MgO and Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 are good ionic conductors and are resistant to molten sodium at about 300.degree. C. Exemplary is a glass consisting of 55 mole percent of Na.sub.2 O, 25 mole percent of B.sub.2 O.sub.3, 20 mole percent of P.sub.2 O.sub.5 and 5 mole percent of ZrO.sub.2.
