ABSTRACT:
Disclosed are normally solid polymers that are the result of addition copolymerization of the monomers acrylonitrile, methyl methacrylate, .alpha.-methylstyrene and/or styrene, and indene in the presence of a preferred unsaturated rubbery polymer, said polymers containing 10-200 parts by weight rubbery polymer, 10-40 parts by weight acrylonitrile, 5-50 parts by weight methyl methacrylate, 5-45 parts by weight of one or both of styrene and .alpha.-methylstyrene and 4-45 parts by weight indene in the polymer structure, per 100 parts by weight of the total parts of acrylonitrile, methyl methacrylate, styrene, .alpha.-methylstyrene and indene combined in said polymer structure. Also disclosed are vinyl chloride polymers compounded therewith to increase the heat distortion temperature as well as the impact resistance.
