Each local unit is in radio connection with alarm transmitters and has a control member with an electronic circuit contained in a case, a keypad, and a display unit. Following an alarm signal sent by one of the transmitters, the local unit in question calls different telephone destinations and/or pagers according to a determined cycle. The different function parameters of each local unit are stored in its control member. These function parameters can be entered, adapted or modified remotely from the central unit according to a remote management procedure.
