ABSTRACT:
A magnetic video recording and reproducing apparatus has a magazine receiving section for receiving a tape magazine, a rotary magnetic head assembly, and a tape threading assembly that includes a flat annular rotatable member surrounding the rotary head assembly and partially underlying a magazine received in the receiving section. Means including a hook and a roller are provided on the annular rotatable member to engage a tape in the magazine and, as the rotatable member is rotated, draw it around the rotary magnetic head assembly to a position where the tape is pinched between the roller and a capstan and the tape lies against the rotary head assembly in position to be scanned. Guide pins, cam actuated from the rotatable annular member, move into or out of tape engaging positions as the member rotates.
