ABSTRACT:
In an electric power steering system (200) for vehicles including a driving control circuit (100) for feeding a driving control signal (Va) to a direct-current motor (20), which supplies auxiliary torque to an output shaft (4) mechanically interconnected through an interconnection member (8) with an input shaft (1). The auxiliary torque is supplied in accordance with an output signal (Vr, V1) from a torque detection mechanism (13) for the detection of steering torque (Ti) acting on the input shaft (1).
The driving control signal (Va) comprises an armature voltage (Va) of the motor (20) having a value thereof proportional to the magnitude of the steering torque (Ti) acting on the input shaft (1).
