ABSTRACT:
6-0- AND 3'-0-D-glycosyl analogs of 4-0-(.alpha.-D-glycosyl)-2-deoxystreptamine, 6-0- and 3'-0-D-glycosyl ortho esters of 4-0-(.alpha.-D-glycosyl)-2-deoxystreptamine, novel aminoglycoside antibiotics, and novel intermediates are prepared by a new chemical process. The compounds have utility as antibacterial agents or as intermediates to make antibacterially-active compounds.
