ABSTRACT:
A high temperature rechargeable molten salt cell is provided using a lith-aluminum (48 atomic percent Li) alloy as the anode, a eutectic mixture of lithium chloride (59 mole percent) and potassium chloride (41 mole percent) with a melting point of 352.degree. C. as the electrolyte and barium nickel sulfide (BaNiS.sub.2) as the cathode active material.
