ABSTRACT:
Aromatic carboxylic acid chlorides can be prepared from alkyl esters of aromatic carboxylic acids by reaction of the alkyl esters with phosgene at 100.degree.-300.degree. C. in the presence of organophosphorus compounds. This reaction can also be carried out in the presence of an inert solvent.
