ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of halogenoindenonecarboxylic acids of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.3 is preferably chlorine and R, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are, for example, H or -CH.sub.3. If these acids are novel, the corresponding substances are claimed. The invention also relates to corresponding esters of these acids, which contain reactive end groups. The compounds are suitable for the preparation of light-sensitive polymers.
