ABSTRACT:
A scanner scans a object using a one-dimensional image sensor via imaging lens. The imaging lens is supported by a lens barrel, which is moved in the direction of an optical axis of the lens for focusing. In order to ensure that the lens barrel does not incline with respect to the direction of the image sensor (i.e., the main-scanning direction), the lens barrel is biased to incline in the direction perpendicular to the image sensor.
