ABSTRACT:
Trans-hexahydrobenzophenanthridines of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl; R.sub.1 is hydrogen, benzoyl or pivaloyl; and x is hydrogen, chloro, bromo, iodo or a group of the formula OR.sub.2, are novel ligands for dopamine receptors.
