ABSTRACT:
An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising a photosensitive layer which contains one or more hydrazone compounds represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein A represents a substituted or unsubstituted aryl or heterocyclic group; R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.5 are the same or different from each other and independently represent a hydrogen atom, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or aryl group; R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are the same or different from each other and independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a nitro group, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkoxy, aryl or aryloxy group; R.sup.6 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or alkoxy group; R.sup.7 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or heterocyclic group, or an allyl group, or binds to the phenyl group attached to the nitrogen atom as indicated by the dotted line in the formula I to form either one of the following rings together with the phenyl group and the nitrogen atom: ##STR2## and n is an integer of 1 or 2, provided that A and R.sup.1 may form a ring together with the carbon atom to which they are attached.
This photoreceptor has high sensitivity and excellent endurance.
