ABSTRACT:
N-(heterocyclicaminocarbonyl)arylsulfonamides and thienylsulfonamides in which the heterocyclic radical is disubstituted; e.g., N-[[4-(2-methoxyethoxy)-6-methylpyrimidin-2-yl]aminocarbonyl]-2-nitrobenze nesulfonamide and N-[[(4-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-6-methylpyrimidin-2-yl]aminocarbonyl]-2-nit robenzenesulfonamide; are useful for the regulation of plant growth and as pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicides.
