ABSTRACT:
A fuel control apparatus for an internal combustion engine which comprises a pressure detecting means for detecting a pressure in a bypass air passage which bypasses a throttle valve in an air intake system for an internal combustion engine, a first estimating means for estimating a value corresponding to the effective cross-sectional area of the bypass air passage, a second estimating means for estimating a pressure in an intake air pipe of the air intake system on the basis of a pressure value detected by the pressure detecting means and an estimated value of effective cross-sectional area obtained by the first estimating means, and an operating means for calculating a fuel injection quantity on the basis of an estimated value of pressure in the intake air pipe which is obtained by the second estimating means.
