ABSTRACT:
Water release valve for a compressed air system. It has a service connection for attachment to a low point of the compressed air system. The valve has a body which has an internal space, part of which is a cylindrical bore. It also has a pilot connection for attachment of a pilot pressure obtained from the compressed air system, and the valve has an exhaust port for releasing air and water from the system. It has one or more pistons placed in the cylindrical bore. At least one of the pistons has a position determined by the pilot pressure. The piston closest to the service end may be placed in two different positions. In one of the positions, it closes the flowpath from the service connection to the exhaust. In the second position, it opens the flowpath.
