ABSTRACT:
An improved process is provided for the hydrogenation of nitrile rubber wherein the molecular weight increase during the hydrogenation process is minimized and controlled, the improvement being that the hydrogenation is undertaken in the presence in the solution of an NH.sub.2 -containing compound selected from ammonia and a C.sub.1 to C.sub.20 primary amine.
