A zoom lens includes first to third negative, positive, positive lens groups. The second lens group includes first to fourth positive, negative, negative, positive lenses. The third and fourth lenses of the second lens group are bonded to each other to serve as a cemented lens. The zoom lens is configured to satisfy Conditional Expressions (1) and (2) as follows:in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?−0.5<f2/f2R<0, and (1)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?0.09<L2/LT<0.19, (2)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?where f2 is a focal length of the second lens group, f2R is a combined focal length of the cemented lens including the third and fourth lenses of the second lens group, L2 is an overall length on an optical axis of the second lens group, and LT is an optical overall length at the telephoto end.
