A silver halide photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer spectrally sensitized by at least one adsorptive spectral sensitizing dye, wherein the emulsion layer or a hydrophilic colloid layer adjacent to the emulsion layer contains at least one compound represented by following formula (I), (II), or (III); ##STR1##
