ABSTRACT:
A water-dispersible, self-crosslinking non-formaldehyde latex is prepared by reacting a starch-polymer graft with a glyoxal compound at temperatures of at least 70.degree. C. to produce a stable emulsion with low viscosity and which upon drying and curing provides a film having good tensile, elongation, water resistance and anti-wicking properties.
