ABSTRACT:
Oral or parenteral administration of thyroid hormone T.sub.4 (from 0.5 to 2 .mu.g/100 g of body weight) stimulates, normalizes dopaminergic innervation in the corpus striatum (striate body), and restores neurochemical compensation following denervation of selective brain areas, thereby increasing neuronal plasticity.
