ABSTRACT:
Oxy-diphthalic anhydrides are prepared by reacting a halophthalic anhydride with an hydroxyphthalic anhydride in a polar aprotic solvent and in the presence of an alkali metal compound such as KF, CsF or K.sub.2 CO.sub.3.
