A wear tip for a rotor of a centrifugal mineral breaker, comprises a carrier80having at least two wear edges82, 84each disposed transversely to the path of mineral material being ejected from the rotor. A longitudinally extending groove122between the first82and second84wear edges forms a rock retaining recession. Each wear edge82, 84has a wear face108with a recess106therein. An insert112of abrasion resistant material is disposed in each recess106. Each insert112has an outer wear surface and an arcuate inner surface114conforming to the profile of the recess106. The outer wear surface of each insert112is generally in planar alignment with the wear face108of one of the wear edges82, 84.
