ABSTRACT:
An exhaust gas purification apparatus10includes an engine20, a manifold22connected to the engine20and through which exhaust gas generated by burning fuel flows, and a casing26connected to the manifold22and holding a honeycomb filter30with a catalyst carried thereon. In the exhaust gas purification apparatus10, the honeycomb filter30is disposed in a position such that the length of an exhaust gas route between the uppermost upstream portion of the manifold22through which exhaust gas flows and the head portion of the honeycomb filter30is about 1 m or less. The honeycomb filter30has a porosity of about 70% or more.
