ABSTRACT:
A slide type guide mechanism in which an adjusting screw member for eliminating looseness can be automatically tightened. The slide type guide mechanism includes a guide22which is provided with a guide groove30having a first guide side surface26and a second guide side surface28extending along straight lines parallel to each other, a threaded hole extending from an outer side surface of the guide toward the guide groove through the first guide side surface26, a slide24which is guided by the guide groove, a screw member threadably engaged in the threaded hole and rotated so as to urge the slide in a direction from the first guide side surface toward the second guide side surface of the guide groove, a torque applying device54having a spring for applying to the screw member a torque by which the screw member is rotated so as to move toward the guide groove.
