ABSTRACT:
Upon receiving a first e-mail, which is deprived of its attachment file due to a capacity limitation of mail server21a, MFP11atransmits a second e-mail containing its own IP address and a transfer request for transferring the attachment file to MFP14a, which is the transmission source of the first e-mail, and other transmission destinations, MFP12aand13a. Of those MFPs which received the second e-mail, MFP12ais accessible to MFP11avia network30and transmits the attachment file to MFP11a, and MFP11aprints out the attachment file upon receiving it, according to an example configuration. The invention makes it possible to acquire and print out a file attached to an e-mail when it cannot be received directly due to the capacity limit of the mail server by obtaining it from the transmission source or from another transmission destination.
