ABSTRACT:
An object of the invention is to provide a functionalized polyphenylene ether useful for polymer alloys or electrical or electronic materials such as printed boards or insulating sealants. The invention relates to a functionalized polyphenylene ether having an average of not fewer than 0.1 unit of a structure represented by the following formula (1) per molecular chain:wherein n is an integer of 9 or more, R1 is an organic substituent having an epoxy group, and R2 is a hydrogen atom or an organic substituent having an epoxy group.
