ABSTRACT:
There are provided:(I) a process for producing zirconia powder, which comprises the step of calcining a zirconium salt in an atmosphere containing hydrogen chloride, and(II) a process for producing zirconia powder, which comprises the steps of:(1) pre-calcining a zirconium salt to obtain a pre-calcined product, and(2) calcining the pre-calcined product in an atmosphere containing hydrogen chloride.
