ABSTRACT:
A grid cleaner35is fixed to a fixing holder41of an apparatus main body in such a way that a wet sponge38faces a grid33. When a charging device3is made to slide in the direction indicated by arrow A, the wet sponge38comes into contact with a surface of the grid33, thereby removing extraneous matters therefrom. Reference numeral40denotes a stopper projection that prevents the charging device3from being disconnected from the apparatus main body at times other than during cleaning. The stopper projection40extends toward a gap roller39side so as to serve as a guide portion42that prevents the wet sponge38of the grid cleaner35and the gap roller39from rubbing against each other.
