ABSTRACT:
There is disclosed an ink jet printhead which comprises a plurality of nozzles and one or more heater elements10corresponding to each nozzle. Each heater element10is configured to heat a bubble forming liquid11in the printhead to a temperature above its boiling point to form a gas bubble12therein. The generation of the bubble12causes the ejection of a drop of an ejectable liquid (such as ink) through an ejection aperture5in each nozzle, to effect printing. In each nozzle, the heater element10requires less than 8 volts and a current of less than 60 milliamps for less than 1.5 microseconds, in order to form the gas bubble12that causes the ejection of the drop of ejectable liquid11.
